Secret Church

This Friday, June 1st, at 9pm, we will meet in South Auditorium to worship. We will worship the God of creation and glorify His Name through prayer, testimony, song and fellowship. We will take advantage of our freedom to worship without public persecution. All over the world, so many believers worship in secret, knowing that they could possibly lose their jobs, land, families and even their own lives. But because God  is worthy of everything we can give, they do this without a second thought. Jesus, the ultimate sacrifice, gave it all to make a way for us to be with Him. So, everyday is our chance to die to ourselves and devote our lives to the King.

We will meet without an agenda. This isn't going to be the typical church service people expect. We will begin the evening asking for the Holy Spirit to lead and we will wrap up when the Lord is ready to be. It's time we take God seriously and come together, united as His bride and be who He has called us to be.

Too many times, we go to church when we've all heard it said that we need to be the Church. It's time we put our preaching into practice. Why can't we go to church as the Church? Church splits occur because people don't truly want to do as the word of God says. Too often, we experience hypocritical betrayal, gossiping, and other condescending ways of tearing down the Church. We must love God AND His children! The Bible is clear. We MUST come together, in love, and consciously decide to make a change that will further His kingdom.

When believers all over the world are risking everything, how can we sit back and complain about the colors of the interior decorations, the volume of the music, or the way a certain person is dressed? Our focus has been distorted and we HAVE to change. Our focus needs to be on Jesus and the gospel and how to be a vehicle for taking that gospel to the ones far from Him. We've been given grace so wonderfully and freely yet we take for granted all the blessings of Heaven he extends to us.

My prayer is that this night will be a time of renewal for all of us, that we will see the glory of God in a new way and that the love of Jesus will shine through us like never before once we depart. If we believe the Holy Spirit is in our presence and we allow Him to change us and make us better for His name's sake, then the world cannot put anything in our way to stop us! We can reach the lost and dying with the love of Jesus. We can be radical for the sake of making His fame greater. I'm excited about the things that are going to happen this Friday. I know God will only work good things for His glory. Praise Him for what He's done and what He will do!
