New Song--To Know Your Grace

Hey guys! In this video, Caleb teaches you a new song called To Know Your Grace. Skip Allen, campus pastor at the Shelby campus, and Caleb came together and decided to start developing some songs specifically for our body to sing together, united with one vision: to reach others with the gospel. This song was inspired out of John 8:12. Jesus says, "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life." (NLT) The song begins with the line, "the light that leads to life guides me through the night." We need to allow Jesus, who is the light of the world, to guide us through our darker times so that we can climb to the top of the highest mountain to proclaim his truth. The chorus is a prayer asking God to allow us to be a reflection of his glory and an example of the gospel, Jesus' selfless love extended to everyone. We ask for the love of God to shine through our weaknesses so that his grace can be known by those who do not know Him. If Jesus was the sun, we need to be the moon to reflect his light to the ones far from God. In the bridge of the song, it's sung, "may your power be revealed and your glory be displayed." This was taken from a phrase that our founding pastor, Neil Perry, often says. This should be our prayer, for the glory of heaven and the name of Jesus to be made famous by the acknowledgement of his power being revealed throughout our lives.
